Metabarcoding has become a powerful approach to study microbial and eukaryotic community diversity using high-throughput sequencing technologies. This workshop introduces the use of 18S rRNA as a marker gene for exploring eukaryotic diversity, along with the analytical workflow using QIIME2.

Led by Yustinus Maladan, S.Si., M.Si. (Pusat Riset Biologi Molekuler Eijkman), the course will combine theoretical foundations with a hands-on session, covering dataset preparation, quality control, taxonomic assignment, and diversity analysis. This training is designed for students, researchers, and professionals who want to apply metabarcoding techniques to their biodiversity studies.
